Ladies and gentlemen, the Constitution of the United States of America passed away in a tragic mistake last night. It was blindsided by a rogue party of Republicans drunk on power in an oil hungry SUV hit and run.
For 219 years the Constitution was a loving father and grandfather to many progressive laws. But this patriarchical figure was snuffed out shamelessly by acts of approved senseless torture legislation. The Democrats that attended the party were slightly more responsible but that still didn’t stop the Republicans from getting behind the wheel.
“We asked if they were ok to drive,” said Senate Minority Leader, Harry Reid (D, NV). They looked like they were going to give us their keys but they changed their mind and said they were ok and were just going to drive home the War on Terror.”
This would prove to be the fatal lack of insistance that would lead to the Constitution’s demise. It’s children known as the Bill of Rights were with the Constitution when it was hit and are currently on life support but are not expected to survive.
No charges have been filed and are unlikely to be filed until the Democrats return from their campaign holidays in November. Hopefully by then they will have fully matured from spineless punching bags into the assertive boxers they were meant to be.
I ask that America, take a moment of silence on this day to mourn the loss of our founding documents and democracy as we have known it for 219 years.

If their only argument is what’s in the Bible then I see no rational basis for what they say.
The US Constitution says “Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion; nor abridge the free exercise thereof.” That means that laws cannot be based on religion. There was no other statistics or reason in their video as to why same sex marriage should not be allowed. It also doesn’t speak of what the amendment will take away from heterosexual couples such as protections for domestic abuse.
Fellow Virginians let’s take back the state motto “Virginia is for lovers” and stop these people from twisting the definition of love into an issue of what genetalia goes where.

I remember that day all too well. I was in my office at the Pentagon by 7:30 that morning. I had been going about my daily business.
I was in our storage room, located literally one “ring” in from where the nose cone stopped in the C-ring doing a quick inventory when the WTC buildings were hit and didn’t know about them. I went up to my office a little after 9am and went back to my office to continue work.
When I got back I had unlocked my computer to check my email and get started with the orders that I needed to make for IT equipment I saw an email from my mother saying that the WTC had been hit by air planes and was going to collapse. This was the first I had heard about the day’s events. I started to try to check online to see what she was talking about as she always tends to exaggerate a bit, but I coudn’t get to any of the major websites, cnn, yahoo, msnbc, et. al. I gave up my attempts and went back to work but not before sending my mom another email saying that I’d be fine and that I loved her.
In the middle of my phone call to a vendor negotiating prices for flat panel monitors for the technicians in our office who didn’t have any deskspace to work with as it was I heard a loud boom (9:38 am) but didn’t think much of it because I knew there were rennovations going on in the offices directly above me and I assumed that maybe the contractors had dropped a safe. The next thing that I heard were people running through the hallways. I got off the phone with the vendor and poked my head out to see what all of the excitement was about. As I looked my Lieutenant, Lt. Vargas, was just coming out of the bathroom with a coffee pot of water to have her morning brew when she yelled out “What’s going on?!”
One lady replied “A bomb just exploded, evacuate the building!”
In disbelief I looked over at my Lt. and she back at me and told me to get my guys out. I turned around and told the two other guys in my office that we needed to get going and to not worry about our bags and hats.
We closed the door and went down the stairs by the courtyard, where we had evacuated to just a week prior when a clothing dryer on the ground floor had caught fire, and looked through the doors and seen the smoke billowing up over the near side of the building. We got into Corridor 2 to leave the building and it was just a huge bottleneck as people were trying to exit the building. As we were leaving it hit me that I didn’t know where my boyfriend was. I had been living with him defacto in DC for a few months at this point. He was one of my co-workers in the office but a contractor. It was very easy to hide our relationship.
I remember the deafening silence as we walked through the hallways, no one was saying anything, no one could.
When we got out of the building it was just as quiet except for the sound of fire engines and ambulances racing towards the building. I looked back at the building and couldn’t get over how unreal it all seemed. Even though I was looking at it through my own eyes it looked as though the events were unfolding like a movie. It was like I was watching it and not actually participating in the events around me.
Eventually it dawned on me to try to get to our warehouse located across from I395 in the Crystal City area where we could tell our offices that we were safe and possibly call our families.
Once we got there I called my mother’s house but was unable to get ahold of her and then tried to call my grandmother. As soon as I called and told her I was ok she started crying. I still didn’t have a concept of the day’s events and after I walked back to Ft. Myer to the back to the barracks. It was about 4:30pm when I finally got there and most of my younger co-workers had gotten back, and other’s that worked midnight shifts had been awake all day.
I tried calling my mom again from my room but couldn’t get out and I broke down and cried for a few minutes especially after turning on the TV and seeing for the first time the carnage in NY on NBC. After getting my composure. I was able to call my mother from one of the other airman’s cell phones. She broke down and cried too but I had to let her go after a few minutes so the battery on the phone wouldn’t die and other’s could use it.
I didn’t find out the safety of my boyfriend until the next day when I walked back to the Pentagon to work after volunteering all night on post to do bomb checks in cars. He winked at me and a day later when we were able to spend time together again he yelled at me for not getting ahold of him sooner. I tried but couldn’t he understood in reality because he had the same concerns for me.
That’s my story as I cry while watching the real-time video from CNN on the web.
These war years are very troubling times for the US and the World at large. With as much speculation about Disney as there has been recently I came across an interesting cartoon on YouTube today that was an anti-Nazi propaganda video from the 1940’s called “Education of Death”. This cartoon makes some startling statments with regard to Naziism and the mindset behind it. There is a lot of symbology used in the cartoon and as it portrays the life of a boy named Hans and how he grows up to become a Nazi soldier in Hitler’s Germany. The final conclusions at the end of the film draw a stark parallel with today’s US Government and how some right-wingers want to portray the news and information of the Iraq War and the over all Global War on Terror.

Manhood still finds him heiling and marching, but the grim years of regimentation have done their work now he’s a good Nazi. His millions of comrades trampling on the rights of others. For now his education is complete. His Education of Death.”
With Donald Rumsfeld recently equating people who question the policies and the administration to Nazi appeasers and changing the overal rhetoric and terminology of the War on Terror to the War on Islamofacist Nazi regimes it would seem that the current administration is trying desperately to push off on other people what it is doing here at home. There is a growing facist regime here at home and it’s the elephant in the room that no one wants to acknowledge exists.

This is exactly what Americans and the world get when they see the upcoming “Path to 9/11” airing on Disney owned ABC networks. This is what we the people get when we ask for our opinions to be handed to us.
he says nothing but what the Party wants him to say The talking heads in this country like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Newt Gingrich, Bill Frist, George Allen, Rick Santorum, Colin Powell, and Mark Levin, all have just restated the political talking points of the GOP and the Bush Administration to add “credibility” to faulty at best information. They put political spin on things to make what the President says as nice sounding as possible and in the best interest of the people. The information is fed to the already transfixed minds of the O’Reilly Factor, and those that have been “Hannitized.” They even feed off of eachother as can be noted by the use of terms like Islamofascism. Sean Hannity has been using the term and drawing comparisons to Nazi Germany of the radical Muslim extremist since early June. The President and the rest of the administration and the administration loyalists like Rick Santorum who has voted 98% of the time with the Bush administration. These people refuse to think for themselves and insist that we follow with blind faith to God and the Bush Admin.
and he does nothing but what the Party wants him to do. This is what is happening with our youth who are being saturated by pro right-wing media and right-wing conservative groups. They are attending “Jesus Camps” and boycotting organizations and corporations that might show the slightest hint of tolerance to minorities. They train to fight in “God’s Army” and follow their leader’s blindly. A new generation is growing up that is completely submissive and/or ignorant of policy, and the politics of the day and will at the whim of the administration, do what they’re told.

Since the attacks of 9/11 the current administration has trampled the rights of others repeatedly by ignoring the 4th Amendment, pushing to stigmatize and ostracise minorities, ethnicly cleanse the country, and legislate religion. The GOP and the administration do not beleive that they need to get warrants to search people, arrest them, or listen to our phone calls. People have been arrested and held indefinitely as enemy combatants without charges brought against them and only 2 have been brought to trial since the attacks five years ago. Since 9/11 the administration and conservative right-wing extremist groups have done more to take back the rights of citizens through stigmatization and ostracisation. Gay and Lesbian Americans have lost the rights to adopt and raise foster children. Some have been permanently barred from marriage or anything that could give them some of the righs of marriage in their state through constitutional amendments. Women have been demonized and kicked out of their jobs for being single mothers. Arab Americans have become targets of harrasment and subject to racial profiling based only on their looks. Right now the GOP wants to and has convinced the majority of Americans that we need to deport all of the brown people so they don’t take our jobs or blow up our cities. Finally, the influence of religion in our government has become so apparant and accepted that the First Amendment prohibitions on establishment have become seemingly null-and-voided.
These are the similiarities to Naziism and Fascisim that GOP talking heads and politicos alike do not want to acknowledge. These are the similarities that they don’t want you to recognize. These are the similarities that the GOP is projecting on the terrorists and Muslim extremists in the Middle East with a doctrine of fear.
This week Pope Benedict XVI shows off the latest in papal trends.
One will notice the lovely pink with gold trim. And if one looks closely they can see the flowery patter around the brim embroidered in gold. Papa Ratzi wore this to protect his Godly liver spots from the burning light of the Sun. While blaming homosexuals for the World’s problems he displayed his latest addition to his drag closet. This writer would say thanks for the fashion tip, but doesn’t think pink is his color.

Fellow blogger, Pam, made note that there doesn’t seem to be any push for a NO vote on the state “Marriage Protection Amendment” by the Democrats. As a resident, I’d agree so here’s my submission for a poster/flyer to pass around to people to let them know just what is at stake with an amendment such as this.
The imagery used in this piece is the silhouette of a man that has been hanged from a tree. The man has been replaced by a sunny rainbow pride Flag. This represents the removal forever of basic civil rights that should be afforded to all individuals of the state. The apparrent setting/rising of a blood red Sun is to symbolize the grave nature of what is at stake in this battle. Will the Sun set on Equality or will it rise to see the light of freedom and liberty as this country was designed to do?
