Oh the Irony of Billy Graham.

Posted in Fundies, Interesting, Religious Right, Strange at 1:34 pm by Daimeon

So does this mean that Christianity is just a cult?

One characteristic of cults is that they strongly believe they alone are right in their beliefs and everyone else is wrong. Thus they reject the central truths of the Bible that Christians have held in common for almost 2,000 years and substitute their own beliefs for the clear teaching of Scripture.

Joe-the-Adviser

Posted in As*hattery, Fraud, Fundies, Interesting, Strange at 12:17 pm by Daimeon

Between Sarah Palin and Sam Wurzelbacher A.K.A. Joe-the-Plumber, A.K.A. Joe-the-War Correspondent and now A.K.A. Joe-the-GOP Adviser, these people won’t give up the spotlight.  It’s been well over 4 months since these jokers’ 15 minutes of fame were up but they just won’t go away, and I admit that’s partially the fault of the blogosphere and the Corporate Media who can’t seem to stop reporting on these two attention whores.

When GOP congressional aides gather Tuesday morning for a meeting of the Conservative Working Group, Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher – more commonly known as Joe the Plumber — will be their featured guest. This group is an organization of conservative Capitol Hill staffers who meet regularly to chart GOP strategy for the week.

Wurzelbacher, who became a household name during the presidential election, will be focusing his talk on the proposed stimulus package. He’s apparently not a fan of the economic rescue package, according to members of the group.

If nothing else, GOP aides are using the appearance to get staffers to attend the 9 a.m meeting.

In case you weren’t planning to attend CWG tomorrow morning, you might want to reconsider because Joe the Plumber will be joining us!” Kimberly Wallner, an aide to South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, wrote in a message to her e-mail list this afternoon.

I wonder if the Republicans are ever going to make a stink about his failure to pay back taxes or even apologize for not doing so?  I mean, fair is fair right?

Rick Warren; lies, attacks, and coverup

Posted in As*hattery, Barack Obama, Fundies, Gay Marriage, Homophobic Rants, Interesting, Lies, Religious Right, Rick Warren, Strange, The Constitution at 5:39 pm by Daimeon

Oh. My. Goodness!

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Exodus 20:16

(paraphrased by InterstateQ!) Pastor Ric’s News &  Views: Marriage Part 1

…what do you really believe about gay marriage? Let me just lay it out for you, my members. My views have not changed in 30 years. I’ve been accused of equating gay partnerships with incest and pedophilia. I believe no such thing. You’ve never heard me in 30 years talk like that.

I’ve in no way ever taught that homosexuality is the same as a forced relationship between an adult and child or between siblings. I’ve never taught that in 30 years. I understand why people think that because of a recent BeliefNet interview. In that interview I named several other relationships such as living together, a man with multiple wives, a brother and a sister relationship, adults with children or common-law relationships. I don’t think any of them should be called marriage. There should only be one definition: one man, one woman.

But, Rick, didn’t you say in that BeliefNet interview:

WARREN: The issue to me, I’m not opposed to that as much as I’m opposed to redefinition of a 5,000 year definition of marriage. I’m opposed to having a brother and sister being together and calling that marriage. I’m opposed to an older guy marrying a child and calling that marriage. I’m opposed to one guy having multiple wives and calling that marriage.

BELIEFNET: Do you think those are equivalent to gays getting married?

WARREN: Oh, I do! For 5,000 years, marriage has been defined by every single culture and every single religion – this is not a Christian issue. Buddhist, Muslims, Jews – historically, marriage is a man and a woman.

See, Rick, we have this thing called The Internet which allows us to look up what you said in the past.  If you did not say these things then there might not be a controversy.  Now you have the gall to attack us: AmericaBlog

Merry Christmas from Rick Warren! You’re all hateful, evil, and not even Christian!

Barack Obama’s good buddy Rick Warren recorded a video yesterday, talking about the outcry over his being chosen to given the invocation at Obama’s swearing in. And it’s a doozie. Warren’s big mouth, and apparent ego, is pretty much guaranteeing that this controversy will continue all the way up until the inauguration and beyond.

In the new video, Warren accuses gays of “hate speech,” of launching “hateful attacks” against him, and he then says that gay and lesbian Americans have “Christ-ophobia,” a clear effort to mock the term “homophobia.” He goes on to explain that gays are “afraid of any Christian,” suggesting that gay and lesbian Americans – gay and lesbian Obama voters – are not Christians. He then goes on to call gays criticizing him “evil.” All this from a man who compared gay marriage to incest and pedophilia, and who explicitly bans “unrepentant gays” from his church membership.

Now we find out that you haven’t really had a change in heart of welcoming gays and lesbians but you’d rather clarify with more condemning language.   What can Barack Obama do to mitigate this situation?  Nothing at this point.  Either he rescinds his invitation to Pastor Warren and faces the ire of the evangelical community or he keeps Warren and alienates his base supporters.

Peter tells us why he doesn’t allow comments on his website

Posted in AFT(AH?), As*hattery, Homophobic Rants, Lies, Peter LaBarbera, Religious Right, Strange at 7:51 am by Daimeon

Well Peter LaBarbera, of the virulently anti-gay website, Americans For Truth About Homosexuality has finally explained his no commenting policy on his site.  It’s because his skin isn’t thick enough.

By the way, and for the record, AFTAH does not allow comments to be posted on our website precisely because of the sheer viciousness, vulgarity and ad hominem, hate-filled attacks that characterize so many messages against us from pro-homosexual activists. Responding to the lies and smears would take all of our time. Uncivil homosexual activists would love that.

Porno Pete?

As veteran AFTAH readers know, one of the favorite, ongoing “queer” lies against me is that I am a secret homosexual or, worse, a covert aficionado of (unspeakably evil and revolting) homosexual S&M and pornography. Hence the nasty slam against me concocted by homosexual spinmeister Wayne Besen“Porno Pete.” (I suppose if you use the logic of ‘Wayne’s World,’ someone who exposes abortionists secretly yearns to slaughter innocents in the womb — and Wayne himself, who monitors and exposes allegedly fraudulent “ex-gays” through his comically named Truth Wins Out — is a closeted fundamentalist Christian who TiVos every episode of “The 700 Club” while pretending to fight for Queer Liberation.)

He still doesn’t understand the concept that he doth protest too much which is why people assume he’s a closet queer.  And trust us when we say, it’s not just Wayne that thought that.  Many have independent thought of their own.

Peter also still hasn’t figured out the art of analogy.  The logic would be like someone, who goes around telling people about the evils of smoking and how horrible it is while spending hours in smoke filled bars occasionally taking a drag while he drinks himself into the grave.

Peter, you logically get these conclusions because it’s been said by one of your former employees that you had massive piles of gay porno mags in your office.  You logically get these conclusions because you frequent things like IML, and Folsom where everyone knows what goes on and frankly could care less unless it affected them.  If he wants to dispel the rumors he might want to take pictures of himself to show everyone that he wears normal street clothes to these events.  Until then all we can do is speculate.

Peter also goes on to attack Pam & Co :

Another of my favorite Homosexual Hate Sites — and a quick-and-easy resource for finding examples of nastiness and anti-Christian bigotry — is lesbian blogger Pam Spaulding’s Pam’s House Blend. Yet as out there as Spaulding is, and she’s out there, Pam’s blogging buddies’ comments make her seem almost respectable by comparison: see this piece about AFTAH Board Member Matt Barber and mecounter-protesting a Chicago “gay marriage” rally — rife with personal insults and the same, old “they must be gay” attacks(Funny, it seems that accusing someone of being “gay” is the biggest insult that radical homosexuals can hurl at their opponents.) Can you imagine trying to deal with daily submissions from such bitter extremists? We can’t, and we won’t.

No, being gay is not an insult.  We’re making assumptions based on his behavior and psychological state of mind.  We’re actually genuinely concerned about him.

Our advice, he should grow up, get some thicker skin, and allow some sort of discourse otherwise his site is just as one sided as he claims sex-ed classes are against Christian ideas.

No lame duck for Bush as he dodges shoes

Posted in As*hattery, Interesting, Strange at 9:57 am by Daimeon

George Bush ducked shoes thrown by an Iraqi tv reporter this weekend during a surprise visit to Iraq.  Mr. Bush was about to as questions of reporters when the size ten shoes sailed past his head.

The reporter shouted in Arabic “This is a gift from the Iraqi people.  It is your farewell kiss, you dog,” as the first shoe sailed through the air as fellow reporters and even Secret Service paused for a moment in shock and awe (pun intended).  He then shouted, “This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq,” and threw the second shoe.

The reporter wasn’t scheduled to be at the presser.  He frequently reported from an area of Baghdad where he, himself has had many relatives killed in the violence of the US Occupation.

Mr. Bush successfully ducked out of the way of both shoes.

Do you want your leather-bondage on the side with your tossed-salad?

Posted in AFT(AH?), American Family Association, As*hattery, Fundies, Homophobic Rants, Lies, Peter LaBarbera, Religious Right, Strange at 5:19 am by Daimeon

My my, after yesterday’s ‘revealing’ (and now removed) look into the minds of “Porno” Peter LaBarbera and Sonja “Rim-job” Dalton, I find their fascination with leather-bondage and kids is just a little too much.  Their website really should be censored because it’s just so full of smut!  I wonder of “The Internets” filter that AFA provides (probably their only good idea) blocks their friends’ websites?

In an article where the Christian Civic League of Maine try to link one man’s extracurricular activities with his professional volunteer activities, completely ignoring the fact that the leather bondage fetish is also part of the heterosexual community, the Fundies have had to dig deep through the tubes of the Internets to ”research” and find the “dirt” on the man they decry, going through many bottles of lube and tissues, no doubt.

(Re-)Pete LaBarbera re-publishes the article in it’s entirety.

From our very fine friends at Christian Civic League of Maine: Is this the kind of man you would care to have invited to perform at your son’s elementary or junior high school? In the homosexual activist social sphere, Lew Alessio is considered not just normal, but laudable. Meet their “Homosexual of the Year”…

From Lew Knows Leather, by Mike Hein, published Mar 21, 2007, by Christian Civic League of Maine:

New York’s “New American Leathermen”, 2001

Homosexual activist Lewis (Lew) Alessio of Greene, Maine was recently announced by EqualityMaine to be the 2007 recipient of the Cameron Duncan Award. The annual award is the radical homosexual lobbying group’s ‘homosexual of the year’ award. The award was presented to Alessio at EqualityMaine’s 23rd Annual Awards Banquet on March 10 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland.

The EqualityMaine press release spoke of Alessio as a homosexual demonstrating “extraordinary accomplishment, commitment, and service within the AIDS community” and “an outstanding leader in Maine’s gay community.” Lew Alessio is better known in the central Maine community as being the leader of a homosexual men’s social club called “ Just Guys.” The “Just Guys” motto from their website is “… the new men’s social group for men who have sex with men.” The group meets at MaineGeneral Heath’s Green Street location, located immediately adjacent to the Green Street United Methodist Church in Augusta.

New York Leathermen Contestants

Less well known is Alessio’s recent past, where he competed, and was named 1st runner up, in a homosexual leather bondage fetishist contest in 2001 in New York City. Alessio placed 1st Runner Up in the homosexual leather bondage “New American Leatherman 2001″ according to the homosexual leather bondage fetish website Leatherweb.com. Later that same year, Alessio “married” his homosexual partner, Jim Shaffer.

Besides being a leather bondage fetishist and leader of a homosexual sex men-only social club, Alessio is also self-employed as part of the theater troupe “Actors Theater of Maine.” The State of Maine Arts directory website states the theater group charges $500 per performance and caters primarily to children, from pre-kindergarden to 8th grade. Alessio’s ‘Actors Theater of Maine’ troupe stages plays that “all use students in the performances along with the professional casts. [The performances] are accompanied by extensive teaching materials,” according to the Maine government website.

From what I gather from the article…The Christianist Civic League and Porno Pete are trying to defame a man who does a lot of good things for his community and for children by revealing what he does in his private life.  Like always they attack the messenger and not the message.

The problem is, what this man does in his off time, when he’s not saving the world, is really only his business.  In no way does what this reflect on the GOOD the man has done in his community with fighting the AIDS epidemic and for what he does for a living entertaining kids.  Using the bolded scare tactic “[The performances] are accompanied by extensive teaching materials,” means absolutely nothing.  The CCL is insinuating that the man hands out instructions on how to be a leather daddy.  This simply is not true.  The teaching materials are directly related to acting and interacting with one another in a play or improv situation.  I hardly doubt the kids are going to tie eachother up and pull out whips afterwards!

My advice to the CCL and Porno Pete, keep your salad-tossing, leather-bondage with kids fantasies to yourselves and stop trying to paint the whole of the gay community with a narrow brush and only one color!  Check out what people on your side of the fence do too in their off time.  You shouldn’t be shocked.

Elaine Donnelly: Opposing Logic and Reality since 1993

Posted in As*hattery, Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Elaine Donnelly, Fundies, Homophobic Rants, Lies, Religious Right, Strange at 5:49 am by Daimeon

After Wednesday’s announcement by Rep. Meehan (D-MA) of the re-introduction of the Military Readiness Enhancement Act (MREA), It was expected that Elaine Donnelly, of the Center for Military Readiness (CMR), would have something to say. In an article titled “Zogby Poll Spins Push For Gays in the Military,” Elaine attacks the Zogby Poll from 2006 that shows the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy doesn’t work.

Using classic P.R. strategy, the Zogby news release highlighted the meaningless “comfort” question, “Are you comfortable interacting with gay people?” Of those responding, 73% said they were. But this is an innocuous question, about as relevant to the controversy as an inquiry about daytime talk shows: “Would you rather watch Ellen DeGeneres’ show or Rosie O’Donnell on The View?”

The key question asked of survey respondents was, “Do you agree or disagree with allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military?”

On that question, 26% of respondents agreed, but 37% disagreed. The poll also found that 32% of respondents were “Neutral,” and only 5% said they were “Not sure.”

The 26% of respondents who want the law repealed cannot compete with the combined 69% of people who are opposed or neutral on repeal. This is hardly a mandate for radical change.

Lets start with the first paragraph. Comparing the opinions of individuals of whether or not they feel comfortable interacting with gays and lesbians to if they like a campy, dancing, lesbian who interviews celebrities and kids to a loud, opinionated, lesbian who gossips with three other women for an hour a day, is like comparing the tastes of individuals who can stomach Hawaiian pizza or not to those who choose between Domino’s or Pizza Hut commercials. We can interact with people like we can eat Hawaiian pizza. We can only view Ellen or The View.

The question was not a direct question but it’s no less meaningful. To ask whether or not our armed forces felt comfortable interacting or more aptly put, serving alongside, with gay people, is the premise behind the MREA and the push to repeal this less-than honorable policy. 78 percent is a large portion. Why? Because, people in the military aren’t stupid. They know they already DO serve alongside gay and lesbian service members.

While it’s true that the direct question gave very mixed results but just because you lump 37 percent who agree with the current policy with 32 percent who, frankly, just don’t care either way. Insomuch as I can add the neutral 32 percent to the 26 percent and say that 58 percent of respondents who are in support or are neutral to repeal of the policy soundly defeat the 37 percent who prefer the status quo. This is hardly a mandate for keeping this ridiculous law.

The rest gets better… Read the rest of this entry »

Trolling Through the Swamps of the Freepi

Yes on this particularly murky rainy day in Washington DC, the Swamps of the Freepi seem murkier, slimier, and ultimately more dangerous as the nasty claws and teeth gnash and gnarl at their prey.

Today’s victim subject is Barney Frank(D, MA) via hotair: (emphasis mine)

There’s no other way around it: When you accuse someone of perpetrating “ethnic cleansing” in any way, shape or form, you are accusing them of genocide.

Genocide. Let that word work its way around your mind for an moment. Genocide is the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group. Think about that. And then watch the most grotesque public statement made by any elected official in the United States in the last 100 years.

No, I’m not kidding or reaching for the hyperbole. Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) in the video below accuses the Bush administration of perpetrating “ethnic cleansing by hurricane” in Louisana after Katrina, in order to make Louisiana more Republican. The video and audio quality aren’t good, but the words are there. Listen a couple of times if you have to.

To Italian Leftists: Thanks, but no thanks.

Posted in Gay Marriage, Religious Right, Strange, War on Christmas at 2:33 pm by Daimeon

italy.JPGIt would appear that our ‘friends’ in Italy who are waging their own battle for equal marriage rights against the Vatican’s desires have gone a little too far.  Two Italian leftists have taken it upon themselves to mock a manger scene in probably the most vulgar none-too-subtle way.  They added four additional dolls to the official nativity

The problem is not that they added the 4 dolls as same sex couples.

Bruno Mellano and Donatella Poretti placed the Barbie and Ken-type dolls in the parliamentary nativity scene, each couple lying down embraced among the shepherds witnessing the birth of Jesus.

Granted it was only for a few minutes before ushers came and took the dolls away but this is not how anyone should go about making their point.  If anything they could have added a second “Mary” or a second “Joseph” standing next to Mary and Joseph.  It would have been very controvercial still but it would have been less so.

This is blasphemous in the highest sense and it offends not only Christians, Christianists, but Athiests, and Agnostics and anyone sensible enough to know better.

Obviosly these two were not sensible and the Italian government, it’s citizens, and the Vatican has every right to be angry.

The GLBT community does not need this kind of help achieving rights.  We can do it on our own with respect and dignity as these two “Rose in the Fist” partyliners deserve neither.

Because remote control batteries don’t change themselves…

Posted in American Family Association, Religious Right, Strange, War on Christmas, change the channel at 3:26 pm by Daimeon

don-wildmon.jpegThe latest “Action Alert” from Don “Can’t change the channel” Wildmon goes after CBS’s Two And a Half Men for parodying “Joy to the World” and “Gloria” during Christmas time.

CBS, Charlie Sheen bash Christ, Christmas and Christians

Charlie Sheen makes Joy to the World into a cheap sex song

CBS and actor Charlie Sheen have used the Christmas season to ridicule and mock Christ, Christmas and Christians. CBS approved actor Charlie Sheen’s vulgar adaptation of a favorite Christian Christmas carol. On the December 11 program, the network included in their Two and a Half Men an episode featuring Sheen singing about his sexual activity to the tune of the traditional Christmas hymn “Joy to the World.”

CBS and Sheen knew that the lyrics would greatly offend Christians, but did not hesitate to air them. Click here to see the episode on CBS.

The episode opens with series star Charlie (Sheen) singing:

“Joy to the world, I’m getting laid; I’m getting laid tonight. We’ll light the yule log, deck the halls, and then we’ll play some jingle balls. It’s been a real long wait – this is our second date! It’s Christmas Eve and I’m getting laid.”

His housekeeper/cook comes in and asks:

“Hey, I’m mixing up the egg nog. You want this broad lit up or just slightly glowing?” “Well,” Charlie says, “let’s see, we’re celebrating peace on earth and good will towards all mankind, so let’s get ‘er plowed!” “Hallelujah!” says the cook.

Charlie returns to singing, “Glo-oh-oh-oh-oh-ria, tonight I’m boinking Gloria!” CBS punctuates every single line with a laugh track.

Take Action

Such actions send a signal from CBS and Hollywood: “It’s ok to bash Christians, their religion and their God.” If you are tired of this bigotry from CBS and Hollywood, please take action and then forward this to your friends and family.

Yes, He even has the audacity to call others bigots.  ‘Cause, you know, parodying a Christmas song is all about slamming Christians.  Maybe, perhaps he should check out the “hits” from Westboro Baptist Church in which many a Christmas song is parodied or mocked.

Surprisingly he didn’t jump on the fact that it’s two men raising a boy, and no mother around.

Yes from Wildmon and his camp the “hits” keep on coming and coming.  It’s amazing that his TV hasn’t burnt out, since he obviously can’t turn it off.  It would explain the thick glasses though.

The comedic gold of Christian bashing.  Every day something new to laugh about.  Where on Earth does it come from?

Fundamentalist Muslims and Right-Wing Pundits; What do they have in common?

Posted in Religious Right, Strange at 3:44 pm by Daimeon

Today, an Austrailian Muslim Cleric used his position to decry women who do not wear hijabs (scarf) on their heads that, they are like “uncovered meat” inviting whatever the “cats” want to do with it.

AP has the article.

tajaldinalhilali.jpg

Hilali was quoted in The Australian newspaper Thursday as saying in the sermon: “If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside … without cover, and the cats come to eat it … whose fault is it, the cats’ or the uncovered meat’s?”

“The uncovered meat is the problem. If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred,” he was quoted as saying, referring to the headdress worn by some Muslim women.

So we blame the victim.  Who else has said such things?  Well, there’s Bill O’Reilly:

hateoreillybook.jpg

O’REILLY: So anyway, these two girls come in from the suburbs and they get bombed, and their car is towed because they’re moronic girls and, you know, they don’t have a car. So they’re standing there in the middle of the night with no car. And then they separate because they’re drunk. They separate, which you never do. All right.

Now Moore, Jennifer Moore, 18, on her way to college. She was 5-foot-2, 105 pounds, wearing a miniskirt and a halter top with a bare midriff. Now, again, there you go. So every predator in the world is gonna pick that up at two in the morning. She’s walking by herself on the West Side Highway, and she gets picked up by a thug. All right. Now she’s out of her mind, drunk.

And the thug takes her over to New Jersey in the cab and kills her and rapes her and does all these terrible things to her. And the thug is so stupid, he uses her cell phone, and the cops trace it back to him and they — and they arrest him and charge him with murder. He had a prostitute girlfriend with him, and she’s charged as an accessory to murder. But Jennifer Moore is in the ground. She’s dead.

Then, there’s Sean Hannity and Dr. Laura:

shi_08.jpg

Hannity agreeing and quoting Dr. Laura: “She says basically, “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?” and that, “Women are far too promiscuous today and there has been a change in values.”  Now she says “Men that’s their nature, and some take issue with it, but that’s neither here nor there.”

Rick Santorum:

 Santorum.jpg
“In this case, what we’re talking about, basically, is priests who were having sexual relations with post-pubescent men. We’re not talking about priests with 3-year-olds, or 5-year-olds. We’re talking about a basic homosexual relationship. Which, again, according to the world view sense is a perfectly fine relationship as long as it’s consensual between people. If you view the world that way, and you say that’s fine, you would assume that you would see more of it.”
Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell:
JERRY FALWELL: And I agree totally with you that the Lord has protected us so wonderfully these 225 years. And since 1812, this is the first time that we’ve been attacked on our soil and by far the worst results. And I fear, as Donald Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense, said yesterday, that this is only the beginning. And with biological warfare available to these monsters – the Husseins, the Bin Ladens, the Arafats – what we saw on Tuesday, as terrible as it is, could be miniscule if, in fact – God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve.

PAT ROBERTSON: Jerry, that’s my feeling. I think we’ve just seen the antechamber to terror. We haven’t even begun to see what they can do to the major population.

JERRY FALWELL: The ACLU’s got to take a lot of blame for this.

PAT ROBERTSON: Well, yes.

JERRY FALWELL: And, I know that I’ll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way – all of them who have tried to secularize America – I point the finger in their face and say “you helped this happen.”

PAT ROBERTSON: Well, I totally concur, and the problem is we have adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government. And so we’re responsible as a free society for what the top people do. And, the top people, of course, is the court system.

JERRY FALWELL: Pat, did you notice yesterday the ACLU, and all the Christ-haters, People For the American Way, NOW, etc. were totally disregarded by the Democrats and the Republicans in both houses of Congress as they went out on the steps and called out on to God in prayer and sang “God Bless America” and said “let the ACLU be hanged”? In other words, when the nation is on its knees, the only normal and natural and spiritual thing to do is what we ought to be doing all the time – calling upon God.

PAT ROBERTSON: Amen

Bill Donohue:

“After all, most 15-year-old teenage boys wouldn’t allow themselves to be molested. So why did you?” He asked. “Why didn’t you just slap the clergyman in the face?”

Matt Drudge:

Matt Drudge actually refers to the children who were preyed upon by Mark Foley as “16 and 17 year old beasts“. He also says, “they (the pages) were talking about how many times they’d masturbated, how many times they’d done it with their girlfriends this weekend…all these things and these innocent children. And this poor congressman sitting there typing, oh am I going to get any, you know?”

Oh that poor Congressman, being preyed upon by those beastly 16-17 year old strong and handsome pages.

Basically it’s blame the victim.  It’s what Rush Limbaugh has been doing to Michael J Fox.  How can we sit and watch these religious right-wing zealots run our country?  This is why people have to vote the Republican party out of the Congress.

The fundamentalist Islamic Cleric’s statements are so harsh and so screwed up I can’t even begin to describe the anger it invokes in me.  Bill O’Reilly was nominated “Worst Person in the World” by Kieth Olberman for his comments.  Sean Hannity and Dr. Laura also have their own issues that they think men can’t help themselves so it must be upon the women to not sin.  It’s just sick.  Are there Dems that do this, sure but you hear it most from the Right wing pundits and fundamentalist clergymen.

This was just my rant of the day.
